How to Play Breakout

Breakout is a legendary arcade game from 1976. Your goal is to destroy all the bricks by bouncing a ball off your paddle.

Move your mouse or use arrow keys to control the paddle
Bounce the ball upward to hit and destroy bricks
Don't let the ball fall below the paddle - you'll lose a life!
Clear all bricks to advance to the next level
Each level gets faster and more challenging

Breakout History

Breakout was designed by Nolan Bushnell and Steve Bristow at Atari. Steve Wozniak (Apple co-founder) helped build the original hardware. It inspired countless clones including Arkanoid, which added power-ups and became equally famous.

Scoring Tips

Hit bricks near the top for more points
Aim for the corners to create chain reactions
Control where the ball bounces by hitting different parts of the paddle
